Caz Scott - Exhibiting at The Etches Collection

Caz Scott trained in fine art at the Arts University Bournemouth and now works as a full-time artist dividing her time between her Dorset studio and Falmouth, Cornwall.

Caz creates exciting vibrant images that depict her response and deep emotional attachment to her surroundings. She spends long periods walking, observing and sketching across the South-West. She is motivated by the dramatic landforms and wildness of the coast and moorland often returning to familiar places as well as seeking new inspiration.

Caz will be back here at The Etches Collection starting her artists residency from January 2022, you can come and see her painting ‘live’ and she will be bringing a selection of her amazing and stunning paintings to display which will also be available for purchase.

During the Easter and Summer holidays, Caz will also be hosting several artists workshops for adults and children alike to join in with.

Caz says…..

“I was lucky to be given a residency at Etches back in 2019 and I was allowed access to the unique collection of fossils from Kimmeridge. I have been able to draw and paint whatever inspired me and I have discovered new topics and approaches in my work.

I have visited the bay numerous times and went with Steve, discovering so many fossils. It’s exciting to draw and paint the ammonites in situ. As well as using the collection there is a wealth of inspiring material that is helping me to create new images.

I am delighted to be exhibiting here again in 2022. I have plenty of paintings of the Purbeck coastline as well as images relating to the rocks and fossils from the local area and the collection itself.

Just as it is wonderful to see the complete collection of Kimmeridge fossils exhibited here it is also magical for me to exhibit my art in a wonderful space, centred around where it’s been created.”
